Netflix isn’t the only streaming service out there. Whether you’re frustrated by price hikes or no longer enjoying Netflix’s content, canceling your membership is easy. Here’s everything you need to know about how to cancel a Netflix subscription on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Note: There is only one way to cancel your Netflix subscription. Signing out of your account or deleting the Netflix app won’t end your membership. If you subscribed through a third-party provider (like your phone or internet company), you’ll need to contact them to cancel.
How to Cancel Your Netflix Subscription
To cancel your Netflix subscription, go to netflix.com/account and sign in to your profile. Then select “Manage membership,” scroll down, and select “Cancel membership.” Finally, click “Cancel > Finish Cancellation.”
Note: These steps will be similar on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
- Go to netflix.com/account. You will need to sign in to your account before you can cancel your Netflix membership.

- Click “Manage membership.”
- Select “Cancel Membership.” You might need to scroll down to see this option.
- Click “Cancel.”
Note: From here, you can also select “Pause for a month” to pause your subscription for one month without losing your profile and preferences. Or you can click “Change Plan” to switch to a cheaper Netflix plan instead.
- Click “Finish Cancellation” to cancel your Netflix subscription.
- Finally, click “Done.”
Note: If you make a mistake, you can click “Undo Cancel Request.” Then your subscription will continue as usual.
Note: If you cancel your Netflix subscription before your billing cycle ends, you can still stream until your current plan expires. To find out how much longer you can keep watching, go to netflix.com/account and check under “Manage membership.”
