The easiest way to restart your Echo Dot is by saying, “Alexa, restart.” When you say this voice command near your Echo device, Alexa will say, “Starting over.” Then your Echo Dot will light up blue. Once the blue light turns off, your device will be ready to use again.

How to Restart an Echo Dot with the Power Cable
To quickly restart your Echo Dot, simply unplug the power cable from the back of the device and wait 10 seconds. When you plug your Echo Dot back in, it will light up blue. Once the blue light turns off, your device will be ready to use again.

How to Restart an Echo Dot with the Alexa App
To restart an Echo Dot, open the Alexa app and tap the “Devices” tab at the bottom of your screen with a light bulb icon. Next, select your Echo Dot under Devices and tap the gear icon in the pop-up. Finally, select Restart device.
