Here is what the Alexa Voice options do:

  • Brief Mode: This setting reduces how much Alexa speaks in response to your questions and commands. Instead of responding with words, Alexa will sometimes just play a short beep.
  • Whisper Mode: This setting causes Alexa to whisper her responses when you whisper your questions or commands.
  • Adaptive Volume: This setting causes Alexa to change the volume of her voice, depending on how quiet or loud your questions or commands are.

From the Voice Responses screen, you can also enable Follow Up Mode, which makes Alexa more conversational. She will learn from your questions and commands, and you can interrupt her for follow-up questions or commands.
